It’s been almost 525, 600 minutes since I wore “real clothes.” Okay, so maybe it hasn’t been a full year, but I feel like its been a hot minute since I’ve had to fasten a button and since coming across the gloriousness called loungewear, I don’t know if I ever will again! Before quarantine 2020, I didn’t own much loungewear other than your traditional black leggings and a few t-shirts ….insert BORING!
Jumping into the loungewear market, I wanted to add pieces to my closet that could transition easily from #quarantineandchill to I need to make a Target run and never know who I might run into, so the desire to look presentable with ease , was apparent. Also, with summer around the corner, long black leggings all the time can be hot and stuffy, and SHE doesn’t do that, so to sum it up, I was in the market for something versatile, cute, and light.
In my search, I came across these high waisted jersey Bermuda shorts from Old Navy, and I felllllllllll all the way in love! Now, my relationship with shorts generally consisted of the basics of throwing on a distress denim pair during a hot summer day, but I hadn’t explored the style idea of rocking them in my lounge wear…… until NOW!
What I love most about the Bermuda shorts is the snug feel of them. When I say you feel real secure with the compression material and the high waist, these babies aren’t going anywhere! I experienced little to no thigh rising or sliding down, which is great because who wants to spend the whole day pulling and grabbing…....not me….... she ain’t got time. I also loved the color of the shorts. It reminded me of a feminine version of the the men’s grey sweatpants that all the zaddies wear that drive the ladies crazy. Loungewear with comfort and a little sex appeal??? Sign me up!
For a casual but chic spin, I decided to pair my shorts with a red DOPE hoodie that I thrifted from Pieces of Posh, one of my favorite NC thrift online boutiques. I loved the oversize hoodie with the form-fitted shorts. Issa Mood. I completed the look with my Eloquii denim jacket, grey Adidas, and multi-colored earrings from It’s Fashion. Now, I am ready to be seen in somebody’s grocery store, looking comfortable and chic on the produce aisle!
